I haven't blogged because I've been sick as a dog.  It turns out handling all of my kid's illnesses wasn't enough.  I had to get the flu.  I barely ate yesterday since everything sounded horrible but I made sure to stuff a few healthy items in my to keep me going.  I don't want to burn all this muscle I've been building. So Cindy is out, STORM WALKING, (walking a full blown snow storm), and Annie, is letting her knee heal up and planning to see us at the gym tomorrow night at 8.  If Annie's knee is doing OK we'll knock out some cardio, if not, we'll hit the weights and avoid the knee!  Funny, how joints are like children, they demand so much attention and catering!  I have a bum hip that likes to dictate to me! Shelley: Day 1, All these women weigh the same? AND Know before you go!

Fact, all these women weigh 154lbs – but it shows up differently based on shapes & heights. (I found this photo on facebook)  Sorry, I don't know who to give credit to for the photos, let me know if it's yours!  But I thought is was so interesting.  It's a shame I'm not 6ft tall, that would solve a lot of my issues;). I thought these images were fascinating.  I believe my body fat is somewhere in the 40s.  So, yeah, there's some work to do. I wanted to lay out how I lose weight.  I am a calorie counter because there are no gimmicks, just good old fashioned, eat less do more.  Additionally, calorie counting requires no weird sacrifices or impossible lifestyle changes.  Counting just makes you more aware and teaches you what exactly you're consuming so you can make better decisions.  As Cindy says, "It's a lifestyle change". Hey girls!! SOOOO.  I went out of town Friday right after work and was fabulous on Saturday.  Planned on having a small slice of Nick's b-day cake.  Didn't really dig on it so didn't eat it all.  Was feeling pretty fabulous about myself UNTIL.  This may shock you both but I'm an emotional eater.  And a hormonal eater. And a cranky eater. And I was all of the above this morning from the get go.  So I had fingers full of gross cake frosting, purchased peanut butter/chocolate frosted cookie bars from Dan's when I stopped to get milk on the way home from Logan this afternoon and didn't track any of it.  My take away is that I'm still feeling sad and frustrated about the things I was feeling upset about earlier.  I would have been better off with a Xanax. :-)  I'm also taking away that just because I had a crap day food wise doesn't mean I'm "off" any program.  I'm trying to make changes that I'll follow for the rest of my life.  ...
