Shelley: Day 17 - The Grocery Store Conquered!
It's been a bit since I've blogged, thanks to my crazy busy life. Things are going well. I had an over day on Friday. I lost a lot of weight while I was sick and it was a little depressing as my body normalized. However, more than 10 lbs in 17 days is still great work and I'm focusing on the win there!
I had a great day today. I was feeling really good so I really ran full out for over six miles and then did weights. I burned almost 1,300 cals today and it felt great! I love it when I have a super workout. Because I burned so many calories I was able to eat a bit more so even though my food looks a little hinky I'm still under for the day!

TODAY'S TIP: The Grocery Store Conquered!
How many times have you gone to the grocery store starving and then jumped off the deep end? I have. Well, I have a solution. If I"m starving, after a workout is particularly hard, I stop by the deli counter first and get a 1/4 Lb of roasted turkey shaved. I eat as I walk around and then I don't find myself reaching for the diet suicide foods. A quick shot of protein also helps to normalize my blood sugar and keeps me feeling satisfied longer. I also use deli meets as a snack or quick dinner. Sometimes, I heat up some shaved ham and add a slice of cheese in the micro and it makes for a really yummy open face sami when I'm in a rush. Delicious!
