Shelley: Day 45 - If the Shoe Fits!

It's Day 45 and the next few days are going to be tough.  Tomorrow, we are going to Spencer's (my favorite chop house), Sunday we are going to my in-laws (I always struggle when I'm not the one who prepared the meal.), and Monday we are going to Benihana.  I've been thinking about strategies for my MIL and Benihana's.

At my MIL's I plan to grab a salad plate and use it as my dinner plate.  This usually keeps me from doing too much damage.  I'm hoping she has salad and fruit and I'll load up on those and try to keep other items at bay.

For Benihana's, I'm doing my homework.  I looked up their nutritional information and the meal I usually get, the Rocky's Choice has 1,055 calories.  I am going to make a few small changes and smart choices (like ignoring my rice and letting Jason eat it the next day for lunch, it's a whopping 340 calories all by itself!).  By making these smart choices and small changes my entire meal will be 551.6 Calories which I can easily run off in the morning.  I'll most likely just break even for the day but given that I will be eating out and a place as yummy as Benihana's I'm getting off easy!

It's early so I'll probably polish off the night with a skinny cow or something similar so my deficit will be a bit lower than my calculation is going to reflect.

BMR CALC:  (1,769+779)-1,025= 1,523 Deficit (but I plan to use 200-300 of that for a snack tonight).

TODAY'S TIP:  If you're not an experienced runner you may not know that if you are running a lot it's best to give your shoes a day to rest.  So I use two pairs and alternate the days I wear them.  It can take an extra day for the padding to recover if you're doing a lot of mileage and you'll be amazed at how much better your knees feel when you give them the right support.

Until next time!
