Shelley: Day 9 - Shop the Outside

So another day has come and gone!  I don't know what my issue is but all I can think about is chocolate!!!!!  So today I reserved calories so I could indulge tonight in an Andes candy bar (yes, they make those!).

I'm looking forward to getting out to the gym tomorrow while W is in school (They have a nursery for the twins).  I have a lot of cleaning, church stuff to do tonight so I'm going to get right to the good stuff. . .

Here's today's breakdown:  (I just copied and pasted this from my app)

Today I made one of my all-time go-to favorites when I'm eating healthy, chicken meatballs with 1/4 cup of marinara (look for one that is 70 cal or less per 1/2 cup) served on either a tortilla or some other bread-ish thing.  Today I used a mini Nan from Costco (These are yummy but calorie heavy so it's pretty small to keep it to 130 calories.).  It's super satisfying, crazy easy (I buy the chicken meatballs too) and FAST which is what is needed when three clamoring kids are biting at my ankles and demanding to be held.

Total Calories Consumed Today:  1,296

BMR CALC: 1821-1,296 = 525 Deficit (Not bad!)

TODAY'S TIP:  Generally speaking, the outside isles of a grocery store contain the fresh produce, meats, dairy, and generally less processed foods.  That's not to say there aren't things like frozen veggies, etc. which are just fine on the inner isles but a good rule of thumb is to accomplish most of your grocery shopping from the outer isles when you're trying to improve your health level.

Happy Shopping Everyone!
