Shelley: Day 8 - Tic Tacs and Werthers, Who Knew?

I haven't blogged because I've been sick as a dog.  It turns out handling all of my kid's illnesses wasn't enough.  I had to get the flu.  I barely ate yesterday since everything sounded horrible but I made sure to stuff a few healthy items in my to keep me going.  I don't want to burn all this muscle I've been building.

So Cindy is out, STORM WALKING, (walking a full blown snow storm), and Annie, is letting her knee heal up and planning to see us at the gym tomorrow night at 8.  If Annie's knee is doing OK we'll knock out some cardio, if not, we'll hit the weights and avoid the knee!  Funny, how joints are like children, they demand so much attention and catering!  I have a bum hip that likes to dictate to me!

I don't want to not eat enough, that leads to all kinds of bad things, like my body going into starvation mode and saving EVERYTHING, or me feeling too restricted and jumping into an ocean of frosting and eating my way out so I'll probably have a snack of some kind tonight after the kids are in bed.  I'm thinking three cuties and maybe some sugar-free jello with fat-free whipped cream (it's totally awesome!).

TODAY'S TIP:  TIC TACS and WERTHERS, WHO KNEW?
I have a sweet tooth. OK, I admit it.  But most candy just doesn't last long enough.  So the other day, I decided to grab a pack of tic tacs.  The WHOLE package was 120 calories and I forced myself to eat one at a time and to suck on each one.  You'd be amazed at how long that took.  I only made it though about half of the container.  Since that had been a success, I decided on a whim to try (I know I have compulsive trying issues) the sugar free mini-Werther's being sold at my local Walgreens.  Turns out they were delicious and took a nice long time to dissolve.  The real tip here is, if you have a need to chew on things find things that take a while to eat and perhaps meet another need (like a sweet tooth) all in one shot.  Thanks Werther!
