Shelley: Day 5 - Take it With YOU!

It's late so this is going to be quick.  Before you judge my food too harshly (ie. MOVIE POPCORN WITH BUTTER), just know I worked out really hard and Friday is my night "off".  However, just because it's my night off doesn't mean I go totally insane and I always write it down, no matter how ugly the numbers are.

Cindy, I hope things are going better.  I'm so inspired by your ability to stick to your plan even when things got stressful!  Thanks for being such a good example!

Annie, you are killing it!!  Don't forget to update your ticker, that gets us all motivated!

TODAY'S TIP:  TAKE IT WITH YOU!!
So I went to a movie today and because I was raised to LOVE popcorn, I got some.  But instead of getting the biggest bucket they have (which I could easily eat alone) I got a small and then also brought some of my own munchies.  I brought three mandarin oranges that needed to be peeled, sorry to the guy sitting in front of me who probably got a little juice in his tupee.  I also brought a bag of the Brookside 90 Calorie Snacks because who doesn't love chocolate at a movie?  I do, but I need someone else to portion it out so I don't lose my mind and eat a family sized Symphony bar (it could happen).  Today's tip is exactly what it says, take it with you.  I've never been to a movie theater that offers mandarin oranges, but I have a giant purse!  So I brought the things I wanted in reasonable portions rather than tried to make myself only eat an 1/8 of a box of Junior Mints (which by the way is impossible from my view).  If I wanted junior mints, I would have counted out a couple and pre-bagged them for my movie.  Eating healthfully isn't about cutting things out it's about being reasonable when you include stuff.  So the next time you know you're headed somewhere (zoo, movie, theme park, Lagoon) where the snacks are all hip expanders, take what you want to have with you and ignore the over priced, heart clogging, teeth ruining stuff that is being sold by pimply teenagers who probably stick their dirty fingers in everything anyway (this is what I tell myself when I'm tempted).

Until tomorrow. . .
