Shelley: Day 40 - It's Really All About the Shape!


It's day 40 and to be honest I haven't weighed myself in a while.  Mostly because it didn't seem like my weight was changing and I didn't want to lose my motivation because my body is definitely changing shape.  I probably need to re-tighten up my eating (I've gotten a little losie-goosie since Jason was out of town).  

I did fablously today but as you'll see, because I've decided to be honest with myself instead of pretending I don't struggle some days (I'm such a food addict, it's a good thing I never tried drugs, I'd be hopeless!).  Yesterday was probably my worst day since I started.  I did run 4+ miles and did some weight training so it wasn't a complete loss but neither was I losing. . .

I was also annoyed that my new heart rate monitor doesn't work.  I've ordered another one, but I'm getting seriously annoyed with Polar.

BMR CALC for today:  1,769-1,173= 596 Deficit today.  (3,800 Cals= 1 Lb) All in all, a good day. I'll probably have some Skinny Pop as well so it will be closer to a 450 deficit.

TODAY'S TIP:  Sometimes, you just have to ignore the scale.  Especially, for those of us who are super out of shape and working out.  Muscle weighs more than fat by volume so the scale doesn't always tell the whole story.  My body is vastly different that what is was in December and I need to just stick to that.  I get a little de-motivated when the scale doesn't reflect my hard work but what I've decided to focus on is the mirror because, in the mirror, things are looking much improved!

Just to give you an idea of the volume exchange, above is a photo with a comparison.  So, I'm glad I'm exchanging fat for muscle even if the scale isn't making me feel progressive about my life changes.
