Shelley: Day 33 - Sometime you just NEED a burger!

Today was one of those days.  It's Super Bowl Sunday so unhealthy snacks were on the mind.  I decided not to make more than one treat to keep myself from serious temptation.  Because it's a classic and Jason loves it, I made Velveeta and Rotel.  To make it a little healthier I used half the Velveeta and doubled the Rotel.  If I had been thinking, I would have cut up some veggies to dip instead of using chips.  Oh well.  Next time!

I went to Provo to see my cousin open her mission call (She's going to Lima, Peru!!!).  They had some adorable cookies decorated like missionary badges.  I only ate half of a cookie but it did have frosting so I just added an extra cookie to my log to ensure the frosting was accounted for.

I can definitely see a difference in my body.  Everything is tightening up and I'm definitely getting more fit.  I found my heart rate monitor but it's not working so I'm going to call Polar tomorrow and if it can't be fixed I'm going to just order a new one.  I currently have the Polar FT40 but I think that's overkill so if I need a new one I think I'm going to get the FT17.  I like the heart rate feature coupled with a calorie counter.

Ok, so to the important stuff.  Today's breakdown!

BMR CALC:  1,769-1,432= 337 Calorie Deficit (Not my best day but given that it was the Super Bowl today and I went to an event with yummy home made cookies (my next greatest weakness, next to popcorn and chocolate)).

TODAY'S TIP:  MODIFY IT!
Some times you just NEED a burger.  So I say, have one!  I choose to modify mine so it's not such a big calorie hit.  My favorite place to get a fast food burger is In-n-Out.  I order it Protein and Animal Style which means it has lettuce instead of a bun (buns have A LOT of calories) and then grilled onions and even the secret sauce.  I love to modify things when I order them.  For example, I often order a veggie sami and have them add turkey.  That way you get all the veggies and still add a bit of protein.  So if you want something, have it, just think about what you can do to make it worth your while.

Have a great night!
