Shelley: Day 132 - Be Strong, Garbage It!
It's Day 132 and even though I haven't been super diligent with blogging I've been doing really well with diet and exercise. I'm still running five miles every day followed by an hour of rigorous weight training. I didn't do super well during my birthday and then Mother's Day but I also didn't blow it all to heck!
I'm short on time so I'm just going to give a tip and plan on blogging more soon.
TODAY'S TIP: Garbage it!
When you do go out and end up ordering more than you really wanted to and realize your mistake as you are eating away the easiest way to be strong is to ruin it. I know this sounds crazy but it's so much harder to leave a pile of fries and continue to chat without finishing them than it is to spill a little water on them to make them inedible. I do this all the time when I'm out with friends because I hate when I mindlessly eat because there is something just sitting in front of me. At home, I can take it straight to the garbage but in a restaurant it can be really hard to wait for the waiter to see me and take the unwanted items away. So, the next time you were strong enough not to eat everything on your plate but then are forced to stare at it for what feels like ages, garbage it - ruin it with a water or a packet of sugar or whatever is handy that will make it totally unappealing. You can also stack plates or put your dirty napkin on top of it.
Happy Dieting!
